Planet Of The Sharks 2016 is an  SyFy channel/Asylum Movie. It borrows from Waterworld 1995 and Deep Blue Sea 1999 for its production aesthetic. It also has leaping great whites by the barrel full. From the start mankind is out of its element and the sharks are in there’s. The flaw that in any lesser paced movies would have been a showstopper is that the strict up-tempo soundtrack is incongruous and accentuates the deadpan delivery of the dialogue throughout. This movie is visually fun, the pacing and action is well handled. Despite its influences its scripting is original and compelling. I can see this movie being done with a Deep Blue Sea sized budget, maybe this could be remade as Deep Blue Sea 4. Check out the great white with the blue iridescent body glitter, that’s a sharksploitation first.
