The Shark Is Probably High On Cocaine. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Deep Fear 2023, is a survival/ crime drama. It puts you in the water from the start and then rarely leaves it. Which is both good and bad. The good is the excellent ocean cinematography, that takes you from crystal clear Caribbean reefs to the murky vista of a deep sea. The bad is that getting to sea early leaves little time for the protagonist's development, it doesn’t build the backstory sufficiently and so it is hard to feel sympathy for the protagonists until act 3. In fact, I would go so far as to say that the protagonists come off initially as unlikable entitled bores. However, by act 2 the entitlement is replaced with the requisite tension. This is kept high with some lovely innovative shark scenes. I delighted in the scenes of leaping sharks performing graphic action. which is a departure from the more common endeavour that usually favors a quick view of slashing teeth and flashing gums. We are here for the shark and these are noteworthy. It feels like a crime drama, but it is certainly worth a viewing for the shark.

IF I CAN'T SEE HIM, HE CAN'T SEE ME.
